The entrance. Arriving from a mine terrace you emerge on the main level with the student centre there to greet visitors and stuents.
The library on the ground floor can be used by students and teachers as well as the public. Behind the shelves are tables for study and computer use.
The Lecture theatre hangs below the main structure taking advantage of the view in the background. The teared seating allows for flexiable use of the space while also catering for larger audiences when required.
This space makes up the workshop on the second level.
Walking out onto the supporting walkways the view over the folley and mine reconnect the user back to the harsh environment. These pathways allow people to move back between the school building and the mine space.
Looking up from the folley, the Dean's elevator hangs from his office to be used as transport down to the folley for regular school meetings.
The folley is built over water as it tried to capture and frame a significant part of the mines structure. The three arms of the form connect both elevators and the mine to the main structure of the folley.
Riding the elevator to the second floor passing the seating area on the roof of the main level.
